How do we solve this?

Our solutions aim to accelerate the Sustainable Development Goal 4 - “to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.”

School

Teach All Children

We provide inclusive content and methodology in Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, for all children in mainstream classrooms in Government Schools. We then build the capacity of the teachers to teach in a way that every last child learns thus improving learning outcomes for ALL.

Support Struggling Learners

We address the learning and psycho-social needs of struggling learners facing mental health challenges, disabilities, abuse, etc. by providing an app based solution that a teacher can use to identify why children are lagging behind. This solution provides holistic support to children at risk and ensures they stay in school.

Provide Vocational Alternatives

We create employability solutions for young adults with disabilities and mental health challenges who are currently left out from open employment due to the vulnerabilities they face. We do this by conducting appropriate job mapping across sectors thus providing equal employment opportunities to ALL.

How do we implement these solutions?

For the past 18 years, we have impacted 1.7 million children through partnership with various State Govts. & NGOs across the country

During our partnership with Sol’s ARC under Development Impact Bond Project in 2016-19, Sol’s ARC played a critical role by developing the programmeframework for remedial learning programmefor 15,000 children studying in Government Schools from Grades 3 to 5 in Bhilwara, a rural district in Rajasthan. The outcome was extra-ordinary withan observedlearning gain of 79%in literacy and numeracy through a rigorous external RCT which is equivalent to almost one year of additional learning. Due to the partnership, we were able to scale our program to 2,00,000 children in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and continues to show significant learning gains for the most vulnerable and underserved children in these states. We appreciate the significant role played by Sol’s ARC team in this success.

Sol’s ARC has filled in the missing piece in our vocational training in Pragati. We knew where we wanted to reach with our students in the skill training, but we lacked a proper curriculum to guide us in the journey. The Sol’s ARC’s curriculum is methodical and easy for teachers and students to follow. Hence the journey to learning had become easier and we were able to put structures in learning, which is the stepping stone for success with our students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. We feel confident that with Sols’ARC’s support (through RASCI certification) we look at success towards employability for our students.

Sol's ARC simply exceeds the qualities of a normal training institute by serving as a livelihood generator for persons with challenges. Sol's ARC understands the need of the trainees and thereby helps and trains the trainers in whichever way possible so that the training is highly beneficial to the interests of the trainees. The in-depth and step-based approach is indeed commendable. I sincerely believe that this training program will help us take ours to the next level.

The Special Edge Program has been designed to keep the end-users at the centre. Our volunteer teachers were able to intuitively pick it up and deliver effective lessons in the classroom. The worksheets and modules have been broken down into the day to day lessons, and are tied together in a framework making it simple for teachers to see how the lessons add up to overarching themes and learning goals. Sol's ARCs support included 1 on 1 support calls, training and workshops and benchmark assessment analysis and recommendations, which we found very useful in making contextual tweaks and changes to improve our delivery of the program.
